San Jose, CA, 2005-03-01 - - Pericom Semiconductor Corporation
(NASDAQ: PSEM), a worldwide preferred supplier
of high-performance interface solutions, and a leader in the field of PCI-Express
lane
appropriation and multiplexing, along with ASUSTeK, a worldwide leader of
Motherboards, proudly announce the availability of A8N-SLI Premium. The
A8N-SLI
Premium is ASUSTeK’s
latest generation of Motherboard that has dual x16 PCI-Express slots to support
either a single Graphic
Card, or dual SLI-ready Graphic Cards with NVIDIA SLI
technology.
“The ASUS A8N-SLI Premium represents motherboard engineering
at its
best. The SLI (Scalable Link Interface) technology provides the fastest platform
for either one or two Graphic Engines, with the help of
Pericom’s PCI-Express
Signal Switch to provide Extreme Performance,” said Joe Hsieh, Director
of ASUS Motherboard Business.
“We are pleased to work with Pericom to
design the industry’s first extreme performance platform for high-end
graphics.”
The high-performance A8N-SLI Premium Motherboard is the first SLI Main Board
that supports both Single and Dual Graphic Card
configurations with electronic
SLI switch. This function is enabled by Pericom’s new line of PCI-Express
Signal Switch products instead of
the more traditional SLI selector card (PCB).
By using the Pericom Signal Switch, customers achieve reduced latency, thereby
enabling the best
possible performance.
“Pericom is a leader in differential switching technology that supports
key industry standards like LAN, USB,
and PCI-Express,” said Shaf Rahman,
Product Marketing Director of Pericom Semiconductor. “We are very happy
to be working
together with ASUSTeK, a world class pioneering manufacturer,
to help develop and launch their next generation SLI Motherboard for Extreme
Graphics and Gaming applications.”
