Phoenix, AZ, 2006-12-13 - Pericom Semiconductor named Avnet Electronics Marketing as
its first worldwide distribution partner today.
With a distribution agreement for the Americas region signed, Pericom’s (NASDAQ:
PSEM) full line of serial high-speed switching, timing and signal-integrity solutions is now available to Avnet Electronics Marketing customers throughout
the globe. Avnet, Inc. (NYSE:AVT) has existing distribution agreements with Pericom in Europe, Asia and Japan, and had an existing relationship with
SaRonix, a company that Pericom acquired in October 2003.
“Avnet Electronics Marketing can supply Pericom products to
customers from anywhere in the world,” said Brad Frey, director of world wide distribution at Pericom.
Using a global distributor,
such as Avnet Electronics Marketing, allows contract manufacturers, OEMs and other customers to streamline purchases across regions.
