Industry's First TMDS Compliant Signal Switch - Pericom Passes HDMI Test Specification, Rev 1.1

San Jose, CA, 2006-01-13 - Pericom Semiconductor Corporation (NASDAQ: PSEM), a worldwide preferred supplier of high-speed integrated circuits and frequency control devices, is announcing that PI3HDMI412-A officially passed the HDMI Test Specification, revision 1.1, at the HDMI Authorized Testing Center, Silicon Image Inc. The HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) compliance certificate places Pericom at the forefront with the only TMDS (Transition Minimized Differential Signaling) signal switch solution that can claim compliance.

"One of the main reasons we are getting design wins with some of the major television, set-top box, and LCD monitor companies is due to our extensive knowledge in regards to ATC compliance testing. This HDMI ATC certification gives our customers full confidence to use PI3HDMI412-A for HDMI signal switching, offering full 1920x1080 high definition resolution for their high end video/audio consumer applications" said Shaf Rahman, Pericom Marketing Director. "Just as we were first to market with a Gigabit Ethernet Switch, first to market with a USB 2.0 high-speed Switch, first to market with a PCI Express Switch, first to market with a SATA Switch, and first to market with a XAUI Switch, we were also first to market with our TMDS Signal Switch," Rahman continued.

PI3HDMI412-A is a 4 Differential Channel, 2:1, 3.3V DVI/HDMI Mux/DeMux Switch housed in either TQFN or BQSOP packaging and is in full production. Datasheets, IBIS, application note, samples and technical support can be found today on the company website at www.pericom.com/hdmi

According to the HDMI organization, HDMI has quickly become the standard for connecting consumer electronics devices. By delivering crystal-clear all digital video and audio quality via a single cable, HDMI helps provide consumers with the ultimate home theater experience.
