Title Field Applications Engineer (FAE)

Description

The primary responsibility of the Field Applications Engineer is to proactively solve customers' design challenges through creative application of Pericom Semiconductor technology solutions. This position has a significant amount of customer interfacing activity and requires excellent communications skills in addition to a strong design background. The FAE will work closely with the customers to understand their system application and goals and Core IC providers to understand future architectures. FAE will use that knowledge to suggest Pericom Semiconductor solutions to fit the system, work with Pericom Marketing and Engineering groups to define new products to meet customer needs, advance the technology solutions with the customer base, and then support the design cycle in the customer. The FAE will also act in a teaching capacity with Sales channels and the design community. The primary customers to be supported are Dell and HP in Texas, but travel to other areas of North America to support customers will be required.

Requirements
  • 5-8 years of design experience or equivalent
  • BSEE or equivalent
  • Must possess the following skills:
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills
    • Strong technical background
    • System design experience, preferably in many application areas
    • Keen problem solving skill set
    • Ability to work as part of a team to solve problems
    • Strong team and matrix management background
    • Ability to communicate product and application suggestions to Marketing
